Dr. Jim Ballow
Dr. Jim Ballow, a native of Henderson, Texas, is a 1988 graduate of Texas A & M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced for one year in Longview after graduation, at the former East Texas Veterinary Hospital. He then returned to Henderson and opened the first small animal only practice there, practicing solo for 4 years. At that time, he merged his practice with another local practice, where he remained until 2002. In the fall of 2002, Dr. Ballow left that practice to pursue a career doing relief work. Doing relief work has allowed him to see a number of different practices, gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases. It has also allowed him to do more orthopedic surgery, which is an area of interest. In the past 2 years, Dr. Ballow has invested time in continuing education and purchased equipment to preform such procedures as bone plating of fractures, extracapsular repair of ruptured anterior cruciate ligaments and repair of luxating patellas (kneecaps). |
